The medicube Hypochlorous Acid Body Peel Shot is a rinse-off body exfoliating serum — applied to dry skin, massaged in, and rinsed away — that takes a fundamentally different approach to body exfoliation than conventional scrubs, AHA body lotions, or BHA sprays. Its hero active, Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl), is the same substance produced naturally by the body's own immune cells to fight infection and clear cellular debris. This makes it exceptionally biocompatible — effective against bacteria and dead skin cell buildup while being significantly gentler than synthetic acids at comparable concentrations.

The exfoliation system operates on three simultaneous mechanisms. Hypochlorous Acid dissolves the intercellular bonds between dead corneocytes and clears sebum from pores at the chemical level. Cellulose — a plant-derived fibre — binds physically to loosened dead skin cells during massage, creating the visible "roll-up" effect where skin debris gathers into small pellets. This sensory feedback is the product's signature experience. Charcoal Powder acts by adsorption: its porous structure physically draws out sebum, impurities, and pore contents. Protease enzyme provides a fourth chemical mechanism — cleaving the protein bonds of keratin without the pH manipulation that conventional acid exfoliants require.

Rice Bran Water and Rice Extract address the brightening side of body skin concerns: dark elbows, knees, rough patches on the upper arms and back. Caffeine adds anti-inflammatory and microcirculation-supporting benefits particularly relevant for body areas prone to congestion. Quaternium-60 and Cetrimonium Methosulfate provide conditioning and antimicrobial support. The post-peel barrier complex — Panthenol, Allantoin, Beta-Glucan, Ceramide NP, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, and Aloe Water — ensures the skin doesn't feel stripped after rinsing.
